The report, published today (Wednesday 15thOctober 2025), was clear that 'veterinary professionals work hard, act ethically, and put animal welfare first'. It also set out 21 measures that it believes will improve 'information on prices, treatments, medicines and ownership; introduce a price cap on written prescriptions; deliver a new comprehensive price comparison website; and highlights that the current regulatory system is not fit for purpose and must be modernised to keep pace with commercial practice and ensure pet owners are protected.'

CMA's proposed remedies

The CMA is proposing a wide-ranging set of remedies to address these issues, including:

Requiring vet businesses to publish comprehensive price lists, be clear if they are part of a Large Veterinary Group ( or LVG ) and make sure that their policies and processes allow vets to act in the best interests of pets and pet owners. These measures will give pet owners the information they need to choose the right practice and treatment options for them.

Prices are collected daily from the public-facing websites of veterinary practices or from information they have voluntarily published. Prices are displayed exactly as published by the practice and are believed to be accurate at the time of collection. Veterinary fees can change without notice and may vary depending on your pet's weight, breed, age, or individual circumstances. The price you are actually charged may be higher or lower than the figure shown here. Always request a written estimate from your chosen practice before treatment.

While we make every reasonable effort to keep information up to date, we cannot guarantee that every practice or every price is listed. Some practices may choose not to publish prices online.

6. Future features (2026 AI tools)

Our planned AI-powered pricing and pet-insurance checker is still in development. Any forward-looking statements about its capabilities are aspirational and subject to change. The Practice review system by pet owners is still under development.

7. Copyright & data use

Practice prices and details remain the property of the individual veterinary businesses. We display them solely to promote transparency in line with Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) recommendations.

8. Privacy & personal data

We currently collect no personal data. The site is static and has no forms, log-ins, or sign-up fields. When we launch future features (e.g., waitlist or AI checker) we will only collect the minimum necessary (e.g., email address) and will clearly explain it at the point of collection. You have full GDPR rights – contact us any time to access or delete anything we hold.
